According to case documents, the plaintiff mentioned on National Girl Child Day, there was a celebration in front of Kaliganj Upazila Shilpakala Academy on Saturday.
During this event, more than 1,000 leaders and activists, along with 80-90 auto-rickshaws led by Moktarpur Union Parishad Chairman Alamgir Hossain, Akram Hossain, and Zakir, entered through a small gate inside the upazila around 1pm.
This caused panic among the small children present at the event.
During that moment, the UNO instructed the plaintiff to ask the leaders, activists, and auto-rickshaws to leave the upazila parishad premises.
Along with the plaintiff, Ansar members Akram Hossain, Rezanul Islam, Assistant Programmer Ujjal Kumar Shil, and some other government employees from the upazila requested them to vacate the upazila compound along with their auto-rickshaws.
However, they did not comply with the requests, so they reported the matter to the Upazila Nirbahi Officer, as mentioned in the FIR.
To control the situation the UNO himself arrived and requested the leaders and activists from Moktarpur Union Parishad, including the chairman, to conduct their program outside because the small children were frightened.
During this time, the activists started shouting loudly, escalating the situation and surrounding the UNO with 10 to 12 people.
Later, when they attempted to attack the UNO, the Ansar members and government officials, including the plaintiff, intervened to resist.
The accused attacked Akram with a wooden baton, causing him an injury to his hand.
