Mother, daughter died in fire in Lalpur

A woman named Shahnaz Begum (40) and her daughter Maisha Khatun (08) were burnt to death in fire of Naopara village at Lalpur Upazila of Natore.

At this time, two others who were burnt are undergoing treatment in the hospital. Shahnaz Begum is the daughter of deceased Ramzan Ali of Naopara village.

The incident was reported to have taken place on Tuesday around 9 pm when a fire broke out in the fence of the house from a kupibati (keresin oil lamp).

The other two who were burnt are Shahnaz Begum’s mother Yatul Begum (70) and neighbor Shahidullah’s son Sajal (22).

According to the sources of Lalpur Fire Service and eyewitnesses, Shahnaz Begum used to live in a tinshed room with her mother and daughter after her husband died.

On Tuesday around 9 pm, a fire broke out in the jute fence of the house. If the locals fail to put out the fire, they inform the fire service.

Fire service personnel went to the spot and recovered the body of Shahnaz Begum.

At that time, his daughter Maisha and mother Yatul Begum were rescued and taken to Lalpur Upazila Hospital.

The doctors on duty sent the two burnt victims to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital as their condition was critical. Baby Maisha died there.
