Sand seized in Lohagara

A mobile court has seized two and a half lakh cubic feet of illegally lifted sand in separate raids at Lohagara in Chattogram on Monday.

Upazila Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Sharif Ullah conducted this operation from noon to evening on that day.

It is known that 2 lakh 15 thousand 8 hundred cubic feet of sand was seized from Lambasia area of Chunti Union, 15 thousand cubic feet from Barua Para of the same union and 19 thousand 2 hundred cubic feet of sand from the area adjacent to Emchar Hat Bazar of Putibila Union.

At this time, 1 dump truck and 4 workers including driver and assistant were detained.

Executive Magistrate Sharif Ullah said that on the basis of secret information, two and a half lakh cubic feet of illegally lifted sand was seized by raiding 3 spots. Such operations against illegal sand extraction will continue in public interest and environmental protection.
