BNP’s Aminbazar rally foiled
Staff Reporter :
The main opposition party-BNP-could not stage its Monday’s scheduled rally at Aminbazar in the capital as the dais already built for the programme was allegedly the vandalised by members of the law enforcement agencies in the early hours of the day.
And as a result, the party was compelled to postpone the rally.
Dhaka district unit BNP convener Abu Ashfaque told journalists that law enforcers dismantled the stage though they gave verbal permission earlier to hold the rally at the venue.
The BNP earlier announced the programme scheduled to be held from 3:00pm as part of its 15-day programme to press home the demand for resignation of the AL government and holding the upcoming general election under a neutral caretaker government.
However, the other scheduled BNP rally at Dholaikhal in the capital was held as usual.
