CU BCL committee dissolved

The organisational activities of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Chattogram University (CU) unit have been suspended after factional clashes between two rival groups of the students body.
The BCLannounced the decision through a press release signed by Chhatra League President Saddam Hossain and General Secretary Sheikh Wali Asif Inan on Sunday.
“As per the urgent decision of the Central Executive Council of BCL, it is being informed that the incumbent committee of Chattogram University unit of Chhatra League has been declared dissolved,” the BCL added in the press release.
“Keeping the academic environment of the university intact and ensuring the learning environment is the responsibility of positive student politics.
The recent incidents are unwanted and against our party discipline and ideals. We always expect positive student politics.
We have taken this decision due to the violation of that,”the BCL President said.
At least 10 BCL activists were injured in a series of clashes between the groups on Thursday and Friday.
Besides, the BCL men assaulted the Prothom Alo Chittagong University correspondent Mosharraf Shahand threatened him not to publish any news about BCL.
