Loom board yarn, chemicals to weavers distributed

Weaving board yarn and chemicals have been distributed free of duty among the five weaving societies of Sirajganj.

Bangladesh Handloom Board Chairman and Additional Secretary Mahmud Hossain was present as the chief guest in the event organized by Bangladesh Handloom Board at Malshapara in the municipal area on Wednesday.

Bangladesh Textile Board has been distributing yarn and chemicals periodically throughout the year to sustain the weavers affected by corona in the district.

Sirajganj Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Manowar Hossain presided over the ceremony in Kaliaharipur 3rd Ward Samiti of Sirajganj Sadar Upazila, Garadah Union in Shahjadpur Upazila, 2nd Ward Samiti of Durganagar Union, 2nd Ward of Khukni Union and 126 people of Primary Samiti of Ullapara Municipality in total 4 crore 95 Chemicals, dyes and yarn worth lakhs were distributed.Bangladesh Textile Board Deputy Secretary Abu Masud, Director General Kamnsheesh Das, Customs Officer Rozina Khatun, Bangladesh Textile Board President Manowar Hossain and members of various textile associations were present as special guests in the distribution ceremony.
