AL body language akin to terrorists: BNP

Staff Reporter :
Speeches, characters and body languages of Awami League leaders are akin to terrorists. It seems that they are landlords, so they will not let anyone in, BNP don’t care about their (AL) words.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the remarks on Thursday while responding to a query about Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh comments.
“We don’t give importance to such words.
Because, we have faced it many times in the past and even we don’t think about them.
It does not matter to the people of Bangladesh whatever they are telling.
This is their style of speaking and mindset.
There is a terrorist aspect in everything they do.
It is their nature they talk like this.
So, the people of Bangladesh do not think about them.
The People’s only goal is for fair, free and impartial elections under a caretaker government,” he said.
Earlier on Wednesday, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh has said the BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir would not be allowed to enter Dhaka anymore.
The Mayor also said that the BNP leader hidin Thakurgaon out of shame.
The recent attack on the BNP’s convoy in Natore made it clear who are committing arsonin the country, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said.
“Awami League attacked the convoy of our leaders and activists and set it on fire in Natore.
If the people around did not come forward, the people inside the car would have been burnt.
So, now it is clear who do arson attacks,” he said in a press conference at BNP Chairperson’s Gulshan political office on Thursday.
The BNP Secretary General strongly condemned the incident and demanded strict legal action against the culprits those who were involved in the barbaric arson attack in Natore.
He said, “they (AL) are using state machinery in all cases and they are even using the state machinery for their own interests.”
BNP is continuing the agitation in a very peaceful manner and they will go to the end of it, he said adding that their next movement depends on the government.
Expressing his apprehension about confrontational politics, the BNP Secretary General said, “We have said it clearly that our movement will depend on the behaviour of the government.
The country will go towards conflict if the government does not resign.
The conflict is yet to begin.
As long as you (Sheikh Hasina’s government) remain, the country will proceedtowards more conflict… will go worse and the conflict will continue to increase..”
In response to another question, he said, “We have only one demand to Awami League, please resign.
The people should be given the opportunity to elect their representatives.”
No election could held free, fair and impartial under the AL-led government which has already been proved, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said.
According to BNP Secretary General, “This time too as the election is coming, the Prime Minister during her foreign tours promised to foreigners that free and fair election will be held in Bangladesh and there is no reason to worry.
Then the European Union sent their best inspection team in Bangladesh and they traveled extensively and spoke to all stakeholders.
They clearly stated that there is no environment for free, fair and impartial elections in Bangladesh after talking various stakeholders.
It’s proven that there is no environment to send an inspection team to Bangladesh.”
Condemning the statement issued by the Judicial Cadre Service Association regarding the sentencing of human rights organisers Adilur Rahmar Khan and AMM Nasir Uddin, the BNP Secretary General said, “Such a statement issued by the judicial cadre service association is unprecedented.
It undoubtedly stands in the way of impartial conduct. BNP’s standing committee meeting feels that it is advisable for judges at all levels of the judiciary to refrain from controversial political activities.”
