BD U-17 Women’s Football team off to Vietnam

The Bangladesh Under-17 Women’s Football team left the city on Monday for Vietnam to take part in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-17 Women’s Football Championship qualifiers.

This is the second round of the qualifiers.

A total of eight teams splitting into two groups are taking part in the football meet.

Hosts Vietnam, Bangladesh, Philippines and Australia are in Group-B, while South Korea, Thailand, Iran and India are in Group-A.

The champions and the runners-up of the each group will play in the next round.

Bangladesh will take on Vietnam on September 20, Bangladesh will face Vietnam on September 22, Bangladesh will play against Australia on September 24.

Bangladesh Under-17 Women’s Football team have taken part in the practice session under supervision of Coach Mahbubur Rahman Litu before take part in the football competition.

Earlier, Bangladesh became champions in the first round of the qualifiers in last April.

They defeated Turkmenistan by six goals to nil in the first match and then, they blanked Singapore by three goals to nil.

The next round will be held in Indonesia next year.
