India became eight times champions in Asia Cup After opting to bat first, Sri Lanka were bundled out for a meagre 50 runs in 15.2 overs.

In reply, India romped home making 51 for the loss of none in just 6.1 overs.

Openers Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill India overhauled the winning target. Shubman Gill remained unbeaten with 27 runs, while Ishan Kishan remained unbeaten with 23 runs.

Shubman hit six fours in his 19-ball innings, while Ishan Kishan struck three fours in his 18-ball knock.

Kusal Mendis and Dasun Shanaka were the only batters of Sri Lanka, who could reach the double digit figures.

Kusal Menis scored 17 runs, while Dasun Shanaka remained unbeaten with 13 runs.

Pacer Mohammed Siraj of India played the key role to dismiss Sri Lanka for a paltry total with a good support of pacer Hardik Pandya.

Siraj captured six wickets in the space of 21 runs, while Hardik Pandya grabbed three wickets at the cost of just three runs.

Besides, Jasprit Bumrah, the other pacer picked up one wicket instead of 23 runs.

Mohammed Siraj was adjudged the Man of the Match, Kuldeep Yadav was adjudged the Man of the Tournament. Yadav captured nine wickets in his Asia Cup 2023 mission.

It is the second lowest total for Sri Lanka in the One Day International (ODI) history. In 2004, Sri Lanka dismissed Zimbabwe for 35 runs in Harare of Zimbabwe.
