‘It is very difficult to control commodity prices’
News Desk :
Agriculture Minister Dr. Abdur Razzak has said that it is very difficult to control commodity prices.
The minister came up with the remark while speaking at a programme on the occasion of a football tournament in Sakhipur of Tangail on Saturday, reports media.
“Commodity prices mainly depend on demand and supply. We are trying to keep the prices within the purchase capacity of common people.
We have taken a step. However, I think that the prices of essential commodities will come under control”, he said.
However, prices of most of the essential commodities remained very high on the kitchen markets in the capital Dhaka over the week ending Friday.
Against the backdrop of an unusual price hike of essential commodities, the commerce ministry on September 14 set the prices of locally produced eggs, potatoes and onions for the first time.
