DU research fund inaugurated

The Dhaka University (DU) administration have lunched activities for collecting donations for the organization titled ‘The Dhaka University Fund’ for carrying out research works.

DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the fund raising program on Saturday at Abdul Matin Virtual Classroom of the university.

At the initial stage, DU Alumni Association President Anwar-ul Alam Chowdhury, PHP Family Chairman Alhaj Sufi Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Universal Medical College and Hospital Chairman Priti Chakraborty and Popular Medical College and Hospital Chairman Dr. Mostafizur Rahman handed over the cheques for the donations to the VC.

A total of Taka 1 crore 11 lakh was collected from four institutions at the function.

The Vice-Chancellor expressed the optimism that it would be possible to increase the fund to Taka 1000 crore by accepting donations at a grand ceremony in the presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Muhammad Samad and Treasurer Professor Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed delivered speech at the ceremony as special guests.
