BD-India ‘Super Four’ match of Asia Cup

Sports Reporter :
Bangladesh Cricket team will face India Cricket team in their last ‘Super Four’ match of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Asia Cup at Ranasinghe Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka today.

The game will begin at 3.30pm (Bangladesh Standard Time).

Private satellite channel of Bangladesh GTV, private satellite sports channel of Bangladesh T Sports and international satellite sports channel Star Sports will telecast the match live.

Favourites India have already confirmed their final berth bagging maximum four points from two ‘Super Four’ matches.

On the other hand, Bangladesh failed to earn any point playing two ‘Super Four’ matches.

Bangladesh are out of title race.

Before today’s match, Bangladesh and India took part in 39 One Day International (ODI) matches each other.

Of them, Bangladesh registered seven victories, while India recorded 31 wins and rest of the one match ended without any result.

It is noteworthy that, India clinched the Asia Cup trophy for seven times, while Sri Lanka attained the Asia Cup title for six times and Pakistan emerged the champions in the Asia Cup for two times.

On the other hand, Bangladesh reached the final of the three editions of Asia Cup.

But they had to be satisfied with the runners-up trophy for three times.

Unfortunate Bangladesh tasted a thrilling two-run defeat to Pakistan in the final of the Asia Cup in 2012 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.

Thus, unlucky Bangladesh failed to earn the Asia Cup trophy.

Promising batter Towhid Hridoy said, ” We did not think about the past.

Our target is to the next match.

We want to do well against the match of India.

We want to finish our Asia Cup mission with victory.

We want to come out from our mistake and want to return to our country with the victory.”

It may be mentioned that Bangladesh have to play against India without their ace batter Mushfiqur Rahim.

Hridoy said, ” Brother Mushfiq will be not with us.

Without an experienced batter to play against India is a challenge.

We shall try to earn victory after giving our best effort.”
