ADC Harun was attacked first: DB chief
Staff Reporter :
The suspended Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Ramna zone), Harun-or-Rashid, came under attack first at the BIRDEM Hospital in the capital, said Harun-or-Rashid, Additional Commissioner, also chief of DMP’s Detective Branch (DB).
DB chief claimed that Azizul Haque, Assistant Private Secretary (APS) to the President, led the attack on ADC Harun at the hospital, along with three central leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL).
While talking to reporters at his office in Dhaka on Tuesday, the DB official also said the incident should be investigated carefully.
In the press conference, Harun said, “He [APS Mamun] is a government official.
He was the one who made the first attack on the police.
He could have informed the higher authorities of the police if he wished.
Or he could inform his superiors.
“But instead, he chased a police officer in front of sick people inside the hospital.
Broke his [ADC Harun] glasses, hit him.
I don’t know if he has done the right thing or not, but this should be investigated.”
Besides, “The whole police force will never take the responsibility for any individual’s crimes.
I think the investigation officer will independently investigate the incident and give a report, he said.
A three-member inquiry committee is investigating properly and impartially.
The investigation report will be issued soon. Then we will know the real facts, he added.
Meanwhile, in this regard, ADC Sanjida said; My Husband Azizul Haque Mamun, APS of President Mohammed Shahabuddin, was the first to put his hands on Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Harun Or Rashid. She told it in a interview with a private channel on Tuesday.
