Sharsha (Jashore) Correspondent :
Sayed Mokbul Hussain Nurani, an educationist, was honored 17 years after his death.
His son journalist Syed Moakkhar Hossain has received this honor on his behalf of his father on Tuesday.
Many people including Sheikh Afil Uddin MP, Upazila Chairman of Sharsha Sirajul Haque Manju and newly elected Mayor of Benapole Municipal Nasir Uddin were present at the function.
Madinatul Ulum Fazil Madrasah started its journey in 1974 at Benapole, adjacent to the Central Mosque.
Abdul Hakeem, a student of the Madrasah’s inception and a member of the current committee, said that Sayed Mokbul Hussain Nurani first built and named the institution in a small size with a bamboo fence.
At that time, the children of the area did not have much interest in education.
Because of this, almost every day he used to go from house to house and brought the children to the Madrasah. Children were attracted and kept sitting.
At one time 25-30 students started taking lessons regularly.
With these students, he expanded the Madrasah by cutting bamboo from the area.
In this way, the Madrasah was built with the help of local people.
In the past 01/09/1985 the institution was included in MPO.
It is noted that Sayed Mokbul Hussain Nurani also founded Benapole Mahila Alim Madrasah with his own efforts.
