Bangladesh Biman Corporation (Repeal) Bill passed in JS

The Bangladesh Biman Corporation (Repeal) Bill, 2023 was passed in Parliament on the eleventh instant with a view to bringing amendment and reinstate Bangladesh Biman Order-1972 enacted by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali moved the bill which was unanimously passed by voice votes in the House with Deputy Speaker Shamsul Huq Tuku in the chair, reports BSS.

Placing the bill, the state minister said the proposed law will replace " Bangladesh Biman Corporation Ordinance, 1977& quot.

The existing Bangladesh Biman Corporation Ordinance 1977 is no longer needed as it is a public limited company, he said.

The draft of the new 'Bangladesh Biman Corporation (Repeal) Act-2023' has been approved in principle, he told the parliament.
