25 ex-armed forces officials join BNP

A total of 25 retired officers of Bangladesh Armed Forces formally joined the main opposition party Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Sunday.

The former Armed forces officers joined the party at a programme held the BNP chairperson’s political office at Gulshan in the capital.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir welcomed them with flowers in the function.

Among the 25 former officers, 19 were retired officers of Bangladesh Army, four were former officers of Bangladesh Air force and two were former Bangladesh Navy officers.

The 19 retired officer of Bangladesh Army are — Brigadier General (Retd) Zahur, Colonel (Retd)
Abdul Haq, Lt colonel (Retd) Aiyub, Lt colonel (Retd) Hasinur Rahman, Lt colonel (Retd) Nawaz, Lt colonel (Retd) Mustafiz, Lt colonel (Retd) Sayed Alam, Lt colonel (Retd) Rashed, Major (Retd) Aziz Rana, Major (Retd) Korban Ali, Major (Retd) Bazakiul, Major (Retd) Afaz, Major (Retd) Mortaza, Major (Retd) Sabbir, Major (Retd) Tanvir, Major (Retd) Al Amin, Major (Retd) Moniruzzaman, Captain (Retd) Goniul Alam, and Lieutenant(Retd) Imran.

Four retired officers of Bangladesh Air Force are -Air Commodore (Retd) Shafik, Air Commodore (Retd) Shah Shahe Alam, Squadron Leader (Retd) Akter Hafiz Khan, and Squadron Leader (Retd) Shafikul Islam.

Two retired officers of Bangladesh Navy are-Rear Admiral (Retd) Mustafizur Rahman, and Commodore (Retd) Mostafa Sahid.
