Old lady staying in goat house as daughters grabbed her property

Eighty-year-old Rahitan Begum is a mother of five children.

Among five of them, two daughters managed to register all her properties in their own names.

A dispute arose with the rest of the children because of this, none of the children allowed the old mother to stay in their house.

Now she is staying in a goat’s house and spends 24 hours on a broken bed.

The incident took place in Batrakandi village of Ghior upazila of Manikganj.

Locals said that her husband Moslem Uddin wrote 165 percent of the land in the name of Rahitan Begum before he died.

They have five children named Billal Hossain, Mumtaz Begum, Bedana Begum, Delwar Hossain, and Anguri Begum.

Her two daughters Bedana Begum and Anguri Begum have registered all the mother’s lands in their own names.

When the other children oppose this act, a family conflict begins.

The trial has been held several times, In the trial, Bedana Begum and Anguri Begum promised that they would support and take care of their mother.

But in reality, the old mother is being neglected by her two daughters.

The reporter himself went to Bedana Begum’s house and found that there were goats on one side of a small cottage where Rahitan Begum was lying in a corner on the other side of the house.

The room is dark and damp without light ventilation.

The old woman wears only one piece of cloth. Excrement is spread all over the floor and bed.

The old woman’s body is cut in several places and bleeding from there.

She cannot speak, and only stares helplessly when she senses the presence of people.

After a while, Anguri Begum, the daughter of the old lady, appeared there.

The two daughters, their husbands, and their children got angry with the journalists for taking pictures of their mother.
