PHED engineer accused of cheating marriage

A woman named Doctor Sumona Islam has filed a complaint against Ahsan Habib, the executive engineer of Noakhali Public Health Engineering Department, claiming to be the third wife of him.
Ahsan Habib is also alleged to have concealed the information of two previous marriages.
In this situation, she called a press conference seeking recognition as a wife of accused Habib and father of her children.
She claimed this in the press conference at Bangla-desh Crime Reporters Association (Crab) auditorium on Wednes-day (September 6) noon.
Dr. Sumona Islam said, I completed an internship at Pabna Medical in 2019 after passing MBBS from Russia.
During my stay in Pabna in 2019, Executive Engineer of Noakhali Directorate of Public Health Engineering Ahsan Habib (38) was introduced to me.
On March 2, 2019, Ahsan Habib proposed me to marry.
At one point we got married on January 25, 2021 with the consent of the family.
Sumona Islam complained that Ahsan Habib hid the information of his previous marriage.
Later, I came to know that Ahsan Habib had two other marriages before.
He has a son by his first wife and two children by his second wife.
When I asked Ahsan Habib about these issues, he got angry and started physically and mentally torturing me.
When I, my mother and brother went to his village home in Mahadevpur, Naogaon, he beat us with the intention of killing us by terrorist forces.
I filed a case with Mahadevpur Police Station in this incident. After the case, he became more violent.
Later, I filed a complaint with the Secretary of the Local Government Department. Later, he compromised with me. I withdraw the case thinking about the future, she said.
Sumona Islam also complained that Ahsan Habib continued exerting pressure on me to destroy my child.
After a few days, he threatened me to divorce and stopped all communication.
Later, when we went to Netrakona, where he was working, he locked me and my mother.
At that time the police rescued ourselves.
After this incident, on March 27, 2022, I filed a CR case with the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate.
Doctor Sumona said, I tried to sustain the family but he tried to degrade me in various ways.
In an attempt to cancel my medical license, he applied to the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council with baseless and fabricated information through his girlfriend Maliha Mahjabin, an anonymous woman.
When contacted on the mobile phone, accused Ahsan Habib, executive engineer of the Noakhali Department of Public Health and Engineering, said, “I did not cheat.”
I fell into a trap and got married. We are separated.
Then why should I give her maintenance cost? Besides, she is hiding the issue of divorce himself.
She was complaining to the concerned ministry. All of that has been proven false, he added.
