3 killed, 12 injured in Munshiganj road crash

At least three people were killed and 12 others injured when a passenger bus rammed a truck standing on the Dhaka-Mawa expressway in Munshiganj’s Sirajdikhan upazila on Wednesday morning.

The accident occurred at 4am in Ramer Khola area of the expressway in the upazila.

All deceased were the bus passengers.

One of the deceased was identified as Hasina Begum, 42, while the identities of two others could not be known. The injured were sent to different hospitals.

According to Hasara highway and Sirajdikhan police,Hasara Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kanchan Kumar Sing confirmed the matter to the media saying that a passenger bus of Labiba Paribahan was heading towards Dhaka from Kuakata. All on a sudden, it hit a truck, which was standing on the expressway.

The bus, later, overturned after being hit by the expressway railing.

The injured were admitted to different hospitals, he said.
