Orientation on tuberculosis at Shibalaya

An orientation program titled ‘Causes and Remedy of Tuberculosis’ was organized on Tuesday at Shivaloy Upazila Regional Office auditorium under the initiative of non-governmental organization BRAC. Upazila Nirbahi officer Md. Zahidur Rahman and upazila health family planning officer Dr. Md. Fazle Bari spoke as resource persons.

BRAC Program Officer Nayan Kumar Roy presented the keynote.

Chairman of Ulail UP Md. Anisur Rahman chaired function.

BRAC Shahidul Islam, Program Organizer Julekha Khatun, Field Organizer Basir Ahmed, Journalists Babul Akhtar Manzoor, Mohammad Younus Ali, Abdul Mannan Member among other spoke.

Total 40 representatives of various professions including teachers, imams, social workers, journalists participated in this program.

It is known that tuberculosis is not a contagious disease.

Others are affected by this airborne disease spread by the patient’s sneezes.

If there are primary symptoms like cough, fever, loss of appetite for more than two weeks, he must see a doctor.

If the disease is identified, the disease is better with 6 months of regular treatment with DOTS method.
