RCC to bring its EPI activities under GIS based mapping

Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) is going to bring its Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) under Geographic Information System (GIS) based mapping.
Main thrust of the initiative is to make the EPI activities digitized so that all the targeted babies are brought under the EPI activities.
Health experts and other stakeholders came up with the observation while addressing the opening session of a two-day workshop on the issue on Sunday.
RCC organized the workshop titled “EPI GIS Based Mapping and Micro-planning” at its city Bhaban conference hall.
Divisional Director of Health Dr Anwarul Kabir Talukder addressed the session as chief guest, while Civil Surgeon Dr Abu Sayeed Muhammad Faruque and Deputy Director of Department of Family Planning Dr Kustary Amina Queen spoke as special guests with RCC Ward Councilor Muhammad Nuruzzaman in the chair.
RCC Chief Health Officer Dr Anjuman Ara Begum and Divisional Coordinator of World Health Organization Dr AKM Kamruzzaman also spoke.
In his remarks, Dr Anwarul Kabir Talukder said the GIS based mapping will play a vital role towards uplifting the monitoring system of works of the EPI field workers.
As a whole, it will add a new dimension in RCC’s health services.
