AL leader hacked dead in Bogura

Miscreants on Saturday hacked to death one college teacher, who is also a local Awami League leader, with a sharp weapon in Shajahanpur upazila of Bogura district.

This brutal incident took place in broad daylight in Shabrul Mathailchapar area of the upazila around 10 am.

The victim has been identified as Shahjalal Talukder Parvez (45), son of one Mansur Talukder.

He was a resident of Shabarul area of Ashekpur union of the upazila. Shahjalal was a lecturer at Kaichar Technical and BMT College of Sadar upazila.

He was also Vice President of Ashekpur Union Awami League.

According to locals, Parvez received fatal injuries as some miscreants indiscriminately struck him with the sharp weapon.

During the
attack, the AL leader was going to Bogura town riding on his motorcycle.

He was rescued by the locals and rushed to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogura town where the on-duty physician declared him dead.

Shahidul Islam, officer in-charge (OC) of Shajahanpur Police Station confirmed the matter to the media and said that on information, police visited the spot.

They were trying to identify the killers to bring them to book, he added.
