BCL holds massive rally at capital

The Bangladesh Chattra League (BCL), the student wing of ruling Awami League, held a biggest ever student rally at Suhrawardy Uddyan of the capital on Friday where Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina delivered speech as the chief guest.

The BCL organised the rally in remembrance of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib.

From this rally, the Chhatra League has taken an oath to travel from the surface to space under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

BCL President Saddam Hossain recited the oath to the activists.

The oath states, “We will always be uncompromising and tireless to build the dream homeland of the youth, the golden Bengal visioned by the father of the nation and the smart Bangladesh planned by her daughter.”

“We will be working from the surface of the earth to the vast space, to make Bangladesh dignified in the world map, under the leadership of national treasure Sheikh Hasina,” theoath added.

Thousands of leaders and activists of various units of the BCL came from different districts of the country gathered at the rally venue Suhrawardy Udyan and also in Dhaka University area.

From the very morning, leaders and activists from other 63 districts were seen coming to the area.

Carrying banners and festoons, they arrived at the venue and adorned them with T-shirts and caps with BCL logo and female with shari.

Divided into small groups, the activists were chanting slogans and waving the national and BCL flags. The BCL was also chanting slogans saying ‘ones again Hasina’.

AL General Secretary and former BCL president Obaidul Quader also addressed the grand rally moderated by General Secretary Sheikh Wali Ashif Inan.
