Cooperation of newsmen with news affairs sought

Under the auspices of Bagerhat district Press Club a meeting was held in the Club Auditorium recently.
President Nihar Ranjan Saha chaired the meeting Md. Khalid Hossain, newly appointed DC of Bagerhat exchanged views with the local journalists of both the print and electronic Medias.
At first when the newly appointed DC arrived at the Press Club he was cordially received by the office bearers and all other members of Club with a bunch of flowers.
In this connection Al-hajj Adv. Mir Shwakat Ali Badsha, founder president of the Press Club and former MP of Bagerhat Constitency-2, Alhajj Abdul Baki Talukdar, General Secretary of the Club, Prof. ABM.
Moshar Husain, founder Member of the Club and Bagerhat district based correspondent of the Daily New Nation, Adv. Md. Shah Alam Tuku, former President of the Club, Israhat Jahan, Vice-president of the Club, Shaikh Ahsanul Karim, Ahad Uddin Haidar, Shawkat Ali Babu, Shaikh Azmol Hossain, Md. Yamin Ali, Khondokar Akmol Uddin Shakhi, Nakib Sirajul Haq, Srdar Injamul Haq and others spoke.
Almost all the speakers said, some 2 of the world heritages-Historic Saitgumaz (60 domes ) mosque and the biggest mangrove forest of the world Sundarbans are situated in this district.
Moreover, the 2nd Sea Port Mongla of the country is also situated in this district.
But there is no modern tourist-guide to attract the tourists of both the country and abrad.
Besides, there are no modern and standard residential hotels in the district town to accommodate the tourists. This district is also famous for lobsters and shrimps which earn foreign currencies for the country. But the district cannot be flourished up to the mark for some problems which can be solved easily.
The journalists also brought before the new DC about the water logging, the major problem for the town dwellers and some other problems.
The speakers requested the DC earnestly to solve all the problems if he can take initiative (within his capacities).
The DC was also requested to co-operate with them (newsmen) in connection with news affair.
Md. Khalid Hossain, the new DC told in the meeting, Bagerhat district is well known to the people of the country as well as in the outsides of the country for its historical importance and mega development projects being constructed in the district.
He called the journalists as the running mates of the different mega development projects taken by the Government for materialization with a view to making the country as a roll model of the development.
In replying to some questions raised by the newsmen he added, my door is open to the journalists for all time and I shall try my level bestsolve problems faced by the dwellers of Bagerhat district town as well as all classes of people of the district as per my capacity.
At the conclusion of his speech he thanked the office bearers and all other members of Bagerhat Press Club for organizing the arrangement and wished for happy, healthy and long life of all.
