Housewife beaten to death

A housewife named Maina Khatun (45) was beaten to death in Ishwardi due to an argument over a transaction of 1500 taka.

She is the wife of Rezaul Karim of Mashuriapara Kamarpara area of Paur city.

Momin Hossain, son of deceased Maina, said that on Monday evening his sister Nishi had an argument with Sheila Khatun, wife of neighbour Roni Hossain, over a transaction of Tk 1,500.

At one point, Roni and Sheela beat sister Nishi. When I and my younger brother Ripon Hossain went to the spot and inquired, they attacked us and beat us. Later we went out of the area fearing for our lives.

At around 8:30 pm, Jahangir Hossain, son of Abul Kashem of the same area, abused my mother in unspeakable language on behalf of Roni and Sheela.

At one point, Imran, Alamgir, Sujan, Asif, Akash, who were with Jahangir, beat my mother severely with iron pipes and wooden bats.
