Litton Das uncertain for 1st match of Asia Cup

Prolific opener Litton Das is uncertain for the first match of the upcoming Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Asia Cup.

The wicketkeeper-batter has been suffering from fever for a few days.

Bangladesh Cricket squad left the city for Sri Lanka on Sunday last to take part in the Asia Cup.

Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka in their first Group-B match at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Sri Lanka on August 31.

But Litton Das could not fly with his teammates on Sunday last.

It was scheduled that if Litton Das could recover from his fever, he would leave Dhaka on Monday.

But he could not fly for Lanka on Monday for Lanka due to fever.

So, uncapped opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim and promising Naim Sheikh will open the innings in absence of Litton Das. Besides, the other alternate opener Saif Hassan has also been suffering from fever.

Zakir Hasan will be also an alternate opener instead of Litton Das.

Zakir Hasan has also a brilliant figure in List-A cricket.

So, the Team Management of the BCB may call him.

Litton Das has a brilliant figure in his ODI campaign.

The right-hand opener scored 2213 runs playing 72 ODI matches.

His highest score is 176 with an average of 34.04.

He hit five centuries and 10 half-centuries with a wonderful strike rate of 88.06.
