Bangladesh Cricket squad will leave the city for Sri Lanka tomorrow to take part in the upcoming Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Asia Cup.
The Asia Cup will be held in a One Day International format.
Before leaving Dhaka, Bangladesh Cricket squad took part a three-week long coaching camp at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in the city’s Mirpur and the BCB-NCA Ground, which is adjacent to the SBNCS.
Bangladesh Cricket squad took part in an Intra-Squad warm-up match on Thursday last.
Before flying for Lanka, members of Bangladesh Cricket squad take two-day recess.
Captain of Bangladesh Cricket squad Shakib Al Hasan or Head Coach of Bangladesh Cricket team Chandika Hathurusingha will speak to the newsmen today.
They will take part at a press conference at the conference room of the ‘Home of Cricket’ which is scheduled to start from 1.30pm.
A total of six teams splitting into two groups will take part in the ensuing ACC Asia Cup.
India, Pakistan and Nepal are in Group-A, while Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan are in Group-B.
The top two teams from each group will play in the ‘Super Four’.
Top two teams from ‘Super Four’ will play in the final.
The final will be held at Colombo in Sri Lanka on September 17.
After reaching Colombo, Bangladesh Cricket squad will get three days to participate in their practice sessions.
Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka in their first Group-B match of the Asia Cup, which is scheduled to be held at Pallekele in Sri Lanka on August 31.
The match will begin at 3.30pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). After that Bangladesh will leave Sri Lanka for Pakistan to play against Afghanistan.
Bangladesh will face Afghanistan in their second Group-B match at Lahore in Pakistan on September 3.
The match will start at 3.30pm.
