Tsunami needed to oust AL: BNP

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday called the people of the country to create mass upsurge to unseat the incumbent Awami League government saying they (govt) are destroying the country with grave misrule.

“They (govt) are destroying everything.

AL thinks they are the owner of the country. To get out of the situation, we need a big shake-up.

Without a big tsunami, the burden from our shoulders cannot be removed,” he said while addressing a discussion titled “Civil Constitutional and Human Rights Protection” at Dhaka Reports Unity, organised by Nur-led Gono Odhikar Parishad.

Mirza Fakhrul said, the ruling Awami League has amended the constitution to serve its own interests.

“The government is frequently saying about constitution. Which constitution? The constitution is for the Awami League.

They have prepared it in such a way that it only serves the interest of their party and party members,” he said.
