2 students injured by armed miscreants

Two school students were fatally injured when some armed miscreants chopped them left and right with sharp knives in the village Purbo Chipabaraikhali under Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district at the night of Sunday (at about 9 pm).

The injured students are Sagar Jomaddar (17), son of one Ruhul Jomaddar of the same village and a SSC examinee from the local Pallymangal High School and Siam Hawladar (15), son of one Panna Hawladar of village Dhansagar and a student of class-VIII of the same High School, according to a delayed report received here.

Being informed of the matter the guardians rushed to the spot at about 10 pm, recovered the fatally injured students from the road sides and rushed to Morrelganj Upazila Health Complex for their treatment.

But considering their precarious condition the injured students were shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital for their better treatment.

According to the police, this unhappy incident was taken place over the smoking. In this connection Md. Sayeedur Rahman, Officer-in-charge of Morrelganj PS told, being informed of the matter 2 police squads were sent to the spot and the Hospital to make enquiries about the injured students.

The officer added, no complaint was lodged with the PS in connection of the matter till the writing of this report.
