Eight IU BCL activists expelled from organisation

The Islamic University (IU) unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League, a student wing of the ruling Awami-League, expelled eights of its activists temporarily on Tuesday.
A press release signed by IU BCL unit president Faisal Siddiqui Arafat and its general secretary Nasim Ahmed Joy confirmed the expulsion.
The expelled BCL activists are-Sabbir Khan and Akib Masud Anubhav of Management Department, Shamim Reza, Abdul Quader and Parvez Hossain Banat of Law Department, Saadullah Siddiqui Simon and Tasin Azad of Finance and Banking Department and Ashiq Quraishi of Human Resource Management Department.
The activists were expelled from the BCL on charges of involvement in anti-organisational activities, the press release added.
It is mentionable that Islamic University Bangabandhu Parishad organised a discussion programme on “Mrittunjoyee Mujib” on August 20 where Mahbub-UL-Alam Hanif, joint general secretary of Bangladesh Awami Leagu addressed the programme as the chief guest. Around 600 teachers, officials and BCL activists were present there.
While leaving the auditorium after the discussion meeting, the expelled BCL activists were involved in clashes leaving persons injured.
