987 passengers fined over ticketless train travel on Western Rail

2 lakh 52 thousand 895 rupees along with fine has been collected from 987 passengers in Western Railway for traveling by train without ticket.
On Saturday (July 19) from 7 am to 1 pm for about 18 hours, 6 special teams conducted raids on 15 intercity trains of Pakshi Divisional Railway.
The operation was conducted on the railway route from Ishwardi Junction to Khulna, Rajshahi to Parvatipur, Ishwardi to Bangabandhu Setu West.

The operation was conducted under the leadership of Nasir Uddin, Pakshi Divisional Commercial Officer of Western Railway.
Pakshi Divisional Commercial Officer Nasir Uddin said on Sunday, Commuter Express going to Ishwardi-Rahanpur, Titumir Express going to Rajshahi-Chilahati, Hrityan Express going to Dinajpur-Dhaka, Nilsagar Express going to Dhaka-Chilahati (up and down), Tungipara Express going to Rajshahi (up-down), Dhaka- Lalmani Express to Lalmanihat, A fine of 2 lakh 52 thousand 895 taka was collected from the ticketless passengers of Dhaka-Khulna Sundarban Express, Khulna-Dhaka Chitra Express, Khulna-Rajshahi Kapota Express (up and down), Rajshahi-Khulna Sagardandi Express. 1 lakh 68 thousand 390 taka for rent and 84 thousand 505 taka for fine.
12 hawkers were also fined for illegally boarding the train during the operation.
Assistant Commercial Officer (North) K. M. Nurul Alam, Assistant Commercial Officer (Dani) Farhan Mahmud, Traffic Inspector Shamim Ahmed, Angshuman Roy Chowdhury, Traveling Ticket Examiner (TTE) Abdul Halim Biswas Mithu, Martin Joy Mondal, Gaurchandra Singh and other members of Railway Police and security forces were present during the operation.
