CHT body recommends cracking down on KNF

Terming Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) as a terrorist organization, the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Peace Accord Implementation and Monitoring Committee asked the concerned department to crack down on them.
The committee advised the secretary of the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs to send a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs to take swift action against them, reports the media.
According to sources, the activities of the Kuki-Chin National Front and the recent situation in the hilly region were discussed in the meeting of the committee.
It termed KNF as terrorist and militant organizations and advised to suppress them at any cost. At this time, the government’s zero tolerance policy against terrorism and extremism was also mentioned in the meeting.
It was discussed in the meeting that they (KNF) are terrorists, militants. They should be treated as terrorists and strictly suppressed.
When asked about this, the convener of the committee Abul Hasnat Abdullah said that the overall situation, including the terrorist activities of the KNF, was discussed in the meeting.
