Nat’l Mourning Day observed led by Haseeb Alam in Bauphal

The National Mourning day and 48th martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu Shiekh Mujuibur Rahman was observed here with a clear vow to bring back all fugitive criminal killers.

In observance of the day, floral wreaths were placed on the mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Shiekh Mujuibur Rahman at Upazila Parishad premises led by AVR Group Chairman and Awami League leader Haseeb Alam Talukdar on Tuesday.

At first, AVR Group Chairman and Awami League leader Haseeb Alam Talukdar placed a floral wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu at his mural.

Haseeb Alam Talukdar seeks nomination from Awami League for the Jatiya Sangsad election in the Patuakhali-2 (Bauphal) constituency.

The day’s programmes started with hoisting of national flags at half-mast atop after sunrise.

Later, a mourning procession was brought out from the upazila parishad area which paraded the different streets of the town and a large number of Awami League leaders and workers took part in the rally.

Followed by the procession, a discussion meeting, leaflet distribution, food distribution and award distribution ceremony among imam was held for marking the day.
