RAB on alert over possible cyber-attacks

Staff Reporter :
Precautionary measures have been taken at various government institutions and banks in the wake of possible cyber-attacks on the public organisations.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) is also working with them, Rab Legal and Media Wing Director Commander Khandaker Al Moin said at a press conference at RAB Media Centre on Tuesday.
“Rab has also taken some security measures. Our IT experts are working on it,” the Rab official said.
According to a press release issued by the Bangladesh Government’s Computer Incident Response Team (BGD e-GOV CIRT) and signed by CIRT Project Director Engr Mohammad Saiful Alam Khan, the country is facing an imminent cyber threat for Tuesday.
The alert was issued in response to a declaration made by underground hacker groups, the release said.
These groups have threatened to launch a series of cyber-attack against Bangladesh’s cyberspace on the specified date, as stated in the press release by BGD e-Gov CIRT.
