Dhaka Abahani Limited will take on Club Eagles of Maldives in their play-off match of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup Qualifiers at Sylhet District Stadium today. The match will kick-off at 3.15pm.
Marking the upcoming football match, press conferences were held at Sylhet on Tuesday.
There is every chance that it will be raining during the match.
Head Coach of Dhaka Abahani Limited Mario Lemos said, ” My boys want to show their as usual performance.
No one could control the bad weather.”
A club can enlisted 11 foreign booters in their registration programme.
Abahani have 11 foreign footballers in their camp. But six foreign booters will be available for a game.
Mario Lemos said, ” We shall form our football team with six foreign booters in the tomorrow’s match.
The foreign booters took part in the practice sessions of my team.
So, we shall not face any problem for the combination of my team.
We shall play to win.
I hope my boys will get advantage as they play at the home ground.
The weather will not make any problem for our boys.”
On the other hand, Club Eagles have more than four to five footballers of Maldives National Football team.
But they have only five foreign booters.
Head Coach of Club Eagles Mohamed Shiyaz said, ” Five foreign booters will take part in the tomorrow’s match.
We shall try to win the match.”
He said, ” We came here four to five days before the football match.
My boys have adapted with the environment, condition and weather of here.
We took part in practice sessions for some days in artificial turf and some days in the grassy field.
I hope my boys will not face any problem to play in the football match against Dhaka Abahani Limited.”
It may be mentioned that if the playoff match between Dhaka Abahani Limited and Club Eagles ends in a draw in the stipulated ninety-minute match, the match will be turn into 30-minute extra time game.
If the extra time game ends in a draw, the fate of the match will be decided in the tie-breaker.
If Dhaka Abahani can win the match against the Club Eagles, then, they will play against the winners of Kolkata Mohun Bagan AC and Machhindra FC of Kathmandu in a play-off match of South Zone on August 22.
