5 of a family burnt in Jurain explosion

Five members of a family sustained burn injuries in a fire following an explosion occurred by gas line leakage in Jurain of the capital’s on Monday.
After the incident, burn victims have been rushed at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
The burnt victims have been identified as Md Atahar, 35, his wife Mukta Khatun, 30, daughter Afsana, 5, Mukta’s father Md Altaf Sikder, 70, and mukta’s mother Morjina Begum, 55.
According to locals, the incident took place on the fourth floor of a building owned by Mannan Master on Salimullah road in Madbor Bazar at about 2am.
Duty doctor at the emergency department of the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery said: “Five members of a family who sustained burn injuries in a fire following an explosion triggered by gas line leakage in Jurain have been brought to the hospital.
They are being treated placing them on observation.
Of the burnt, three including the child are in critical condition.”
