President pays tribute to Bangabandhu at Dhanmondi

President Mohammed Shahabuddin will pay homage to Bangabandhu today on the occasion of the National Mourning Day and 48th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

“The Head of the State is scheduled to pay glowing tributes to the Father of the Nation by placing a wreath at his portrait in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi 32 in the capital at 6.30am,” President’s Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin told BSS on Monday.

Earlier, the President will be received by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Bangabandhu Memorial Museum premises.

Later, both the President and the Prime Minister will place wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu there.

After laying the wreath, they will stand in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of Bangabandhu, also the great architect of Independent Bangladesh and the greatest Bangalee of all times.
