11 poachers arrested along with dead deer from Dimerchar

Some 11 poachers of deer were arrested by the forest guards from Dimerchar within Kachikhal sanctuary forest under Sharankhola Forest Range in the Eastern Division of Sundarbans ( in Bagerhat district ) at Wednesday night.

At that time the forest guards recovered a dead deer that was stranded in a trap; a huge number of traps made with nylon threads and seized 2 trawlers.

After lodging a case with the local PS under the Forest Act against the arrested poachers were sent to the court at Bagerhat district headquarters on Thursday afternoon.

It is learnt from a source of Sndarbans forest department that acting on secret information a contingent of the forest guards of Kachikhali sanctuary forest office conducted a raid at Dimerchar area at Wednesday night and seized two ( 02 ) trawlers.
