HISA 3rd terminal partial inauguration on Oct. 7

The highly expected world-class third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) will be partially inaugurated on October 7.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the terminal partially as 90 per cent construction of the third terminal will be completed by that time.

A soft launch of the third terminal will take place on October 7, marking the partial commencement of operations.

However, only airlines will be able to avail its services initially, the CAAB Chairman, Air vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman told journalists following a visit to the construction site on Tuesday.

“The terminal is expected to be open to passengers at the end of 2024,” he informed.

Earlier, on December 30, 2019, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the construction of the terminal.

On hiring a third party for ground handling, Air vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman said they would finalise the deal with any suitable Japanese firm in the middle of next year.
