SUST Prof Tahmina obtained Ph.D

Professor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) Tahmina Islam obtained PhD degree.

She obtained Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from the renowned University of Malaya in Malaysia.

She researches the deficits and challenges acid attack victims in Bangladesh experience during the rehabilitation process.

Expressing the feeling of attaining PhD, she said, PhD degree is a normal process. But it was challenging for me because it was during Corona.

I moved to the country and the study leave was over. I thought to take leave and go again but then all the flights were cancelled.

Due to this, the completion of Ph.D. is somewhat delayed. But during this time my colleagues and students were my greatest strength.

Regarding research, she said, my research was on acid terror Acid terror has now subsided.

But currently there are about 3000 acid burn women. I have tried to highlight their situation.

We have shown how we can help women victims of any kind of violence, not just acid, to turn around.

Mentioned by Professor D. Tahmina Islam completed her graduation (honours) and post graduation from social work department of SUST Later, he obtained a second masters degree on the International Master of Science in Social Work from University, Sweden.

Besides, his 13 research articles have been published in international quality journals.
