Two women killed in Sylhet, youth arrested

Sylhet Bureau :

Two women were killed in Goainghat and Companiganj upazila in Sylhet on Thursday.
These separate murders took place on Thursday (03 August) morning at around 8:30 in Baluchar of Islampur Union of Companyganj and around 9:30 in West Pratappur village of West Jaflong Union, .
The deceased are Ayesha Siddika Julie alias Zarina (30), wife of Hasan Miar of North Pratappur village in West Jaflong Union. The other deceased is Chalekha Begum (50), a resident of Baluchar village in Islampur Union of Companyganj. A few days ago, her marriage broke up with her husband Abdur Rauf.
The police also told local sources that Ayesha Siddika Julie alias Zarina was going to the local madrasa with her daughter in the morning. Siddiqur Rahman (22), a resident of the neighboring house, stabbed him behind the house and seriously injured him due to an argument over a trivial incident. Zarina’s jaw along with her right ear was cut off in the fatal coup.
His relatives immediately rescued him at Goainghat Upazila Health Complex and later took him to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital where he died around 11 o’clock.
The dead body of Ayesha Siddika Julie alias Zarina has been sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem after preparation of Surathal report.
