Tree fair begins in Meherpur

BSS, Meherpur :

A week-long tree plantation campaign and tree fair-2023 was inaugurated in the district town Saturday.
Meherpur District Administration organised the fair on the premises of Deputy Commissioner’s Office.
State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain inaugurated it as the chief guest this noon and joining the inaugural function held in the Deputy
Commissioner’s office premises.
With Deputy Commissioner Md Shamim Hasan in the chair, the function was addressed, among others, by Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Abdul Qadir
Mia, Police Super Md Rafiul Alam, Deputy Director of district Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) Shankar Kumar Majumder, Forest Official G M
Mohammad Kabir and the Secretary of Meherpur district unit Awami League M A Khalek.
Earlier, a colourful procession was brought out on the occasion from the district town and ended at the same venue after parading the different city streets.
A total of 30 stalls have been set up in the week-long tree fair.
