OTT platforms full of so many web series this year

Entertainment is now at hand in
the welfare of OTT (Over The Top)
platforms. Prioritising the needs of the audience, they are bringing new and exciting contents. These stories are spreading fascination. Gradually the popularity of home or mobile theatre is increasing. Domestic stories are not able to compete with all the expensive
foreign contents. However, there are constantly coming movies and
web series of various stories.
At the moment, many web series
of the country are waiting to be released from several OTT
platforms. Popular stars will star in these series with famous directors.
‘Sharey Showlo’
Hoi Choi is the popular platform of two Bengals. Thriller series ‘Sharey Showlo’ directed by Yasir Al Haq and starring Afran Nisho will be released on August 17. The web series ‘Sharey Showlo’ is based on the mysterious floor of sixteen and half at Hotel Violet Inn. The series will take the audience through an experience where they will discover themselves in a different kind of secret affair in the web of opulence and deceit.
Afran Nisho will be seen as lawyer Reza in this series. He will fight high profile cases on behalf of reputed real estate companies. Intekhab Dinar played the role of corporate manager Rakib in the series. Zakia Bari Mamo will be seen as journalist Rini, Imtiaz Barshan as ADC Altaf, Shahed Ali as Gaffer and Aafia Tabassum Borno as Public Relations Officer in the web series ‘Sharey Showlo’.
‘Virus’
Anam Biswas is a talented director. In 2018, he made the movie ‘Debi’ and caused a stir. His new web series ‘Virus’ will soon be released on digital platform Chorki. Recently a poster of the web series has been released where actor Shamal Mawla is seen covering half of his face with a sheet. The other half is viruses.
The story of the series will continue with the present day life where some important contemporary issues will come up.
Sharif Siraj, Rashed Mamun Apu, Golam Farida Chhonda, Christano Tonmoy, Marshia Shawon, Tupur and many others acted in the series. Along with this, a group of students from Department of Theatre and Performance Studies of the University of Dhaka also acted in this series.
‘Mohanagar 3’
On Eid-ul-Fitr, the popular web series ‘Mohanagar 2’ was released on OTT platform Hoi Choi. As in the first episode, director Ashfaque Nipun showed his charismatic direction in the second episode as well. So, this time the audience has started waiting for the third episode of the series.
Director Ashfaque Nipun told this correspondent, “We are preparing for the third episode where the second phase is planning to be more crowded. I don’t want to say anything more right now. When the time comes, everything will be officially announced from Hoi Choi.”
So far, Mosharraf Karim has been seen playing the lead role in two episodes of this series. Fazlur Rahman Babu, Shamol Mawla, Afsana Mimi, Lutfor Rahman George, Brindaban Das, Nawshaba Ahmed and many others also acted.

The series is being produced by Mohammad Habibur Rahman and Adnan Al Rajib. Kolkata’s actor Anirban Bhattacharya was seen playing a special role as a surprise in the second episode of this series.
‘Kachher Manush Dure Thuiya’
Director Shihab Shaheen has once again proved his worth on the digital platform of the country with Eid-ul-Fitr ‘Myself Allen Swapan’. He is currently busy with several works. In between, he plans to start shooting for his new web series ‘Kachher Manush Dure Thuiya’. Tasnia Farin will play the lead role in the series. Opposite him is Khairul Basar. Currently, the director of the series is out of Dhaka in the location selection.
While talking about this series, director Shihab Shaheen told this correspondent, “We are now in Rajshahi. The series may be shot here. However, not much information can be given about it now.”
It is known that apart from this series, this director has three more web series. One of them is titled ‘Asur.’
‘Agochora’
Digital platform Binge is coming with a six-episode web series ‘Agochora’. Recently the first look of the series has been revealed. This series is produced by Siddique Ahmed based on the story of the underworld of old Dhaka. Zakia Bari Mamo and Imtiaz Barshan will be seen in the lead roles in this crime thriller series. Intekhab Dinar, Fazlur Rahman Babu and many others will also act in various roles. The series is scheduled to release in mid-August on Binge.
‘Syndicate 2’
In 2022, popular web series ‘Syndicate’ was released. The crime thriller-style web series generated quite a buzz that year. This time sequel of this series, ‘Syndicate 2’ is coming.
While talking about the series its director Shihab Shaheen told this correspondent, “The story of ‘Syndicate 2’ series is going on. Then the location will be fixed. I hope to start shooting by the end of this year. But this time there will be several new surprises.”
Afran Nisho played the main role of the ‘Syndicate’ series. Shatabdi Wadud, Rashed Mamun Apu, Nasir Uddin Khan and many others will be seen in this series.
