‘BNP can do nothing waging movement against AL govt’

Ruling Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said the BNP can do nothing against the current government.
“The BNP has failed to wage a movement to oust the government and would fail to win the general election as well,” Obaidul Quader said at a rally organised by the Upazila AL at Kabirhat Government College in Noakhali on Saturday.
The AL General Secretary said the BNP has not been able to do anything in the last 14 years against AL and the present government and would not be able to do anything. It must be failed to do anything in the future either, he added.
He also said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is not concerned by any visa policies or intimidation and she would never bow down to anyone.
Obaidul Quader said once Noakhali used to be a fort of BNP but it has become a base of Awami League now.
The AL General Secretary also urged his party leaders and workers to be united to foil conspiracies against the countrymen by the BNP and its allies.
Member of Parliament (MP) of Feni-2 constituency Nizam Uddin Hazari, Noakhali -1 MP HM Ibrahim also spoke at the rally.
Obaidul Quader said the BNP has been defeated in movement and it will also be defeated in the election.
“The BNP is waging movements to disrupt the ongoing massive development across the country as the whole country witnessed an unprecedented progress under the AL government,” he said.
“Since Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s main strength is the country’s people and AL is the party that grows out of the soil and people of this country, it is not possible to suppress Awami League by waging movements or shedding blood, he added.
“The hands of those, who would come to carry out atrocities or vandalism, will be broken,” the AL General Secretary said.
“Sheikh Hasina is now the most popular leader in the country. In the last 48 years, such an honest, brave and efficient leader was not born in this country,” he said.
“Now, Bangladesh has become a model for poverty alleviation. As long as Sheikh Hasina is in the power, she does not fear anyone except Allah. She does not even bow down to anyone.
Such a bold utterance was never heard from the any leader,” Obaidul Quader said.
