Hefazat demands urgent release of Mamunul Haque

Amir of Hefazat-e-Islam Maulana Muhibbullah Babunagari demanded of the government to release their all imprisoned Islamic scholars including Hefazat leader Mamunul Haque.

“If you want to protect your chair release the Islamic scholars and leaders of Hefazat-e-Islam immediately. Apologise to the nation and find your own way out,” addressing to the government, the Hefazat Amir said while speaking at the National Ulama Mashaikh Conference organized by Shaikhul Hadis Parishad at Mahanagar Natyamanch in the city on Saturday.

This conference was held to ensure the release of all imprisoned Islamic scholars including Maulana Mamunul Haque.

The speakers also demanded withdrawal of false cases filed against the scholars across the country and establishing greater unity among the scholars.

Maulana Muhibbullah Babunagari said, “False cases are being filed against the leaders and activists. At least 30-40 false cases have been filed against everyone. Leaders in custody including Mamunul Haque should be released immediately. If not, you (government) have to leave the power.

The demand for the release of imprisoned clerics has turned into a public demand. The situation will be chaotic if you not released the imprisoned Islamic scholars immediately.”

Maulana Mahfuzul Haque, President Shaykhul Hadith Parishad said, “Today it is very difficult for Ulama to go out from their houses as they are being arrested by the government. The whole country is now turned into jail today. Not only Mamunul Haque, the whole nation should be freed from the prison like situation.”

Secretary General of Hefazat-e-Islam Maulana Sajedur Rahman said, “We are now united and all Islamic scholars are united. So, we strongly demanded to release of all imprisoned scholars immediately. We will launch tough movement if scholars are not freed by peaceful movement. Release Maulana Mamunul Haque immediately.”
