Man dies as tree falls on him

A man named Zafar Hawladar (45) who was living in abroad met his tragic end when a tree fell on him in the village Kadamtala under Sharankhola Upazila in Bagerhat district on Tuesday noon, according to a report a received here. Ill-fated Zafar Howladar, son of one Kader Hawladar of village Kadamtala, was living in Qatar. He returned home 3 month ago on leave. On the day of occurrence he went to a neighboring house to cut down a big Chambal tree as a laborer and when the cutting (of the tree) is near completion the man drew a rope that was tied with the head of the tree towards the ground the tree fell on him within moments. As a result, he died on the spot.
Md. Ikram Hossain, Officer-in-charge of Sharankhola PS told. on information police visited the palace of occurrence and admitted the fact and added, the ill-fated Zafor Hawladar returned home from Qatar on 6 month’s leave and during the period he used to work as a day laborer.
The Officer also added, as no complaint was lodged with PS in this connection the dead body was handed over to the relatives from the Upazila Health Complex and an UD case was registered with the PS.
