4 children drown in Tangail, Natore

Three children were drown in ditch at Madhupur upazila in Tangail. The accident took place in the Hagurakuri village of Phulbagchala union of the upazila on Monday evening. The deceased children are Akash (5) son of Mosharraf of Hagurakuri area, Naeem (4) son of Harun of the same village and Sohan (7) son of Al Amin of Sholakuri village of the same upazila.
Farid Ali, chairman of Phulbagchala Union Parishad, said recently a ditch was made to excavate soil for the construction of a house. Later, due to rain the ditch filled with water. On evening, the 3 deceased went to bathe in the ditch next to the house after playing. At one stage of bathing, they all drowned in the water.

Then, the family members searched for them but could not find. Later, the body of a child was found floating on the ditch water. Due to this, the family members realized the matter and recovered the bodies of the other two. Later, with the help of the locals, the family took them to the Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor declared them dead. Among the children, Sohan came to visit his grandmother’s house. Mazharul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Madhupur Police Station said, “After bringing them to the hospital, the doctor declared them dead.” The body has been handed over to the family as there is no complaint from the family.

Baraigram (Natore) Correspondent adds: A child named Yasin Khan (2) died after drowning in the canal near his house in Baraigram upazila of Natore. The incident took place at around 11 am on Saturday in Garmati Khan Para area of Gopalpur Union of the Upazila. The deceased Yasin is the son of Ilyas Ali Khan of Garmati village.
Local resident and local UP member Salim said that the child was playing in the yard on Saturday morning. At that time his mother was busy with household work at home. After some time, after not finding the child, he found the unconscious body of the child floating in the water of the canal next to the house. Later, his relatives rescued him and rushed him to Banpara Patwari General Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
