At that time, they displayed placards and chanted slogans— “We want democracy, no more Hasina, we want Caretaker, no more Hasina, we want free fair election” and, “DSA is a black law” etc.
The situation created in front of the Attorney General office when a four-member European Union (EU) delegation came to meet with Attorney General AM Amin Uddin.
The EU delegation came to the attorney office at 2.00pm and held a one-hour meeting with the Attorney General. Additional Attorney Generals SM Munir, Sk Md Morshed and Barrister Mohammad Mehedi Hasan Chowdhury were also present.
Later, when asked about the discussion of the meeting, Chief Law Officer of the state Amin Uddin told reporters that the delegation wanted to know about the Representation of the People Order (RPO), criminal-civil law and citizen’s rights. Apart from this, the application of different acts has been discussed.
When asked if there was any specific issue in the discussion, the Attorney General said, “There was nothing specific. They wanted
to know about the laws of Bangladesh. I have informed them what is in the laws and what is not there.”
However, AM Amin Uddin did not say anything specifically about which laws were discussed in the meeting. The Attorney General also said there was no discussion on Digital Security Act, its application or any specific case.
