Govt desperate to hold another voter less polls: BNP

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday accused the government of trying desperately to hold another voter less national election to cling to power.
“The government has become desperate to hold another general election without voters unilaterally,” the BNP Secretary General said in a statement sent to the mass media.
The government has become desperate to wipe out the multi-party democracy and differences of opinion. They are destroying all kinds of democratic institutions in inhuman ways.
The BNP Secretary General issued the statement condemning and protesting the stabbing of Morichhya Srabanti Bouddha Bihar’s Principal Srimath Dharma Jyoti Bhikku at Haldia Palong union under Ukhia upazila in Cox’s Bazar district early Sunday morning by miscreants.
“The people now live in a very suffocating situation in the country. Somebody including man, woman, child or elderly are being attacked every day,” Mirza Fakhrul said.
Mirza Fakhrul said there is no assurance that any Bangladeshi national, irrespective of caste, creed and religion, can move freely with their life and property during the rule of present government.
The country has now confined to the reign of terror. The government which doesn’t have any public support has adopted the path of violence and terrorism. They have adopted the path of clinging to power creating panic in the minds of people.
He said people have become very angry against the government’s insensibility and inaction in the wake of deaths of people and negligence toward them due to countrywide spread of dengue disease.
“When the people across the country have become united for a free and fair election, attacking and stabbing Srimath Dharma Jyoti Bhikku was a well planned incident. Such a heinous incident is only possible during the rule of Awami League,” Mirza Fakhrul said.
The BNP leader also demanded arrest of the miscreants responsible for the heinous attack on Srimath Dharma Jyoti Bhikku and sought his quick recovery.
