Farmer killed in Madan over clash

A farmer was killed named Dilip Khan in a clash over a football match in Madan upazila of Netrakona.
The incident took place at Naikpur Paschim Para village in Madan Upazila on Monday noon. Police have been arrested 3 people in this connection. Deceased Dilip Khan (56) is the son of Khorshed Khan of Naikpur Paschim Para village in Madan.
It is known that a football game was held in Naikpur village two days ago. In the game, Mustakim son of Munsur Mia of that village beat Hasan son of Alim Uddin of the same village. This created tension between the two sides in the area. The matter was settled in arbitration on Monday morning. But on the way back from the arbitration, the two parties once again clashed in a verbal argument. Dilip Khan, a farmer, died on the spot.
The Officer in Change (OC) in Madan Police Station, Mohammad Tawhidur Rahman said that one person died in a fight over football. Three people have been detained for questioning. Additional police have been deployed to control the situation in the area. The body sent to Netrakona General Hospital for post-mortem.
Further legal action will be taken in view of the complaint of the deceased’s family.
